Our teachers are among the most compassionate and hard-working young women you will meet.  Each one of them places your children first.  The majority of our teachers have received a BFA in Dance from well-known and respected colleges in the dance community.
 
Miss Janice (Owner)
This is Miss Janice's7th year as owner and director of Dance Impressions.  It was always a dream of hers to one day own a studio that would be about more than just dance.  Dance Impressions represents Miss Janice's dream of combining a passion for the art of dance with a loving and compassionate desire to inspire kids and adults alike. Miss Janice holds a BFA in Dance from Marymount Manhattan College.  Among her many credentials are a performance in Spettacolo di Danza Contemporanena in Italy, the Billboard Live Club opening in Miami, and numerous showcases under the direction of Frank Hatchett. Most recently, Miss Janice and Miss Joanne's choreography won the Dance Xplosion Excalibur Award for their production routine.

Miss Carey
Miss Carey has been dancing for almost 20 years and is entering her 5th year at Dance Impressions.  She began her training at the age of 7 and always knew dance would be a big part of her life. After High School, Miss Carey's love of dance brought her to Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Dance.  Here, she concentrated in Jazz dance and was lucky enough to perform in many works for the Playhouse Dance Company with choreographers including, Ron Tassone, Doug Bentz, and Kiki Lucas, from the Houston Metropolitan Dance Company.  Miss Carey also choreographed an original piece for the Playhouse Dance Company called "Genesis".  Miss Carey has participated in various performances such as an off-broadway show entitled "A Dream Called Happiness" and Magical Music Days in Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom.  Upon graduation, Miss Carey began teaching at Dance Impressions.  Miss Carey enjoys teaching because she has a love of dance that she enjoys sharing with her students. She has fun watching the children grow in the art of dance, and is very excited to see what the future brings to all of the talented students of Dance Impressions!
 
Miss Joanne
Miss Joanne began dancing at the age of 3. In many ways, the dance studio was her extended family. Daily, she tries to bring that same atmosphere to Dance Impressions. Miss Joanne is a recent graduate of Montclair State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. She performed in the critically acclaimed Martha Graham "Steps in the Street" and Shapiro and Smith "To Have and to Hold" while in college. She has appeared in the Citrus Bowl Halftime Extravaganza and the Channel 12 News. She has won numerous choreography awards and has been regionally recognized for her choreography. Most recently, Miss Joanne and Miss Janice's choreography won the Dance Xplosion Excalibur Award for their production routine. Miss Joanne enjoys sharing her passion for dance with all children.
 
Miss Karen
Karen attended the prestigious HS of Performing Arts in NY.  She owned and operated a very successful dance studio in Brooklyn before moving to NJ.  Karen has taught numerous dance classes from creative movement to competition level classes, winning many awards for competition teams and choreography.  Karen has also been a judge for several competition companies.  In addition to teaching ballet, tap and jazz, Karen teaches and performs in her own Polynesian Dance Troupe, bringing her love of hula to her classes and at various performances thorughout NJ. Miss Karen joined Dance Impressions Family officially last year and has been a welcome addition ever since.. 
 
Miss Kathy
Kathleen started taking ballet classes at the age of 3 and auditioned for the New Jersey School of Ballet at the age of 8 where she was accepted as a scholarship student.  At the age of nine she performed in her first Nutcracker with the company and went on to become an apprentice to the New Jersey Ballet Company performing weekly at the age of 14.  When she turned 18 she became a full time member of the New Jersey Ballet Company and performed in roles in various ballet’s including, Clara in the Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Allegro Brillante, Donezetti Variations, Peter and the Wolfe, and many original choreographed pieces by George Tomal, Edward Villella and jazz choreographer Jay Norman. Miss Kathy has been training the dancers of Dance Impressions for three years.
 
 Miss Maureen
Maureen Dicker is a graduate of Rutgers University, with a BA in dance.  She was the owner and director of Maureen's Danceworks, with locations in Old Bridge and Sayreville NJ for 20 years.  During this period, Maureen created the Par Excellence Dance Competition Team, who performed at the Orange and Citrus Bowls, Magic Music Days in Disney World, and won numerous competitions titles in solo and group categorizes.  Her students also performed at Swing 46 tap club in NYC.  In addition to Rutgers, Maureen has studied at the university of Florida, dance enrichment program, at Woodpeckers in NYC with Brenda Bufalino, Gregory Hines and Barbara Duffy, Participated in the Royal Academy of Dance teachers training program in Ballet, studied with  Savion Glover at the NJPAC summer intensive, and with Jacques D'Ambrois in the National Dance Institute Teacher Training program.  Maureen is currently the company tap choreographer for Dance Impressions in Colts Neck NJ, and  The Movement Dance Center in Marlboro NJ, and is the tap teacher for RBR performing arts high school in Red Bank, NJ. Maureen has taught at Dance Impressions for several years and each years brings out a tapper in every dancer.
 
 
Miss Pam
Miss Pam began the sport of Gymnastics at the age of 10 and began competing at the U.S.G.F. level at the age of 12. She trained and competed on the east coast until receiving a full scholarship to Kent State University in Ohio. After college, she wanted to continue the love of the sport of Gymnastics and started teaching and coaching at various local gyms including The Barnstormers Gymnastics Club (13 years), I.G.C.(International Gymnastics Camp) and Berks Gymnastics Camp (both in Pennsylvania). During her coaching years, she choreographed both floor and balance beam routines for many gymnasts. Miss Pam has continued her love of Gymnastics and her love for inspiring and motivating children at Dance Impressions as their in-house Acro teacher. Her Acro choreography has won a number of duo and trio awards at various competitions.
